VIDEO PREMIERE: 'The Devil Wears Cowgirl Boots' by Coral Renee
The new intriguing single from the NSW singer-songwriter
Coral Renee is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from New South Wales who is already a graduate of the CMAA Junior Academy and of the Talent Development Project. She was a Top 5 Finalist in 2TM Discovered 2025 and last year won the open section in the Australian National Busking Championship Heats at The Entrance.
Coral Renee's latest single, 'The Devil Wears Cowgirl Boots' (out now from RTC Records), is an intriguing tale that begins innocuously enough with a teenager observing a woman, the 'devil in cowboy boots', who arrives in her town. It then becomes a coming-of-age story with a twist, reinforced by Coral's defiant, unrepentant vocal. It's enough to make a person wary of cowboy boots! And it's no surprise that she won the 2025 TSA Award for Novice Songwriting for it.
Now there's a video to accompany the song, directed by Josh Beveridge and Tracy Beveridge from Roaming Creatives, featuring Coral Renee and dancers Keisha Neal, Riley De Luca and Ona Fraser. And that video is having its premiere here today.
'The music video for "The Devil Wears Cowgirl Boots" visually re-enacts the story of a rebellious young woman who takes a young girl under her wing, passing down her old red boots,' says Coral Renee. 'The shift in aesthetic from my previous videos, to a dark and mysterious look, was extremely exciting to play around with. Working in the beautiful space at Jerry Sent Me, with a wonderful team of professional dancers, and the videographers at Roaming Creatives, was both a fun-filled-experience, and brought the story of my song to life.'
You'll be drawn into the video as much as you are into the song, and both promise much from this talented artist.
